Islam Makhachev highlights construction problems in Dagestan amid flooding

Seventeen days ago, as flooding was already affecting Dagestan, Makhachev called on regional leadership to address construction issues, stating that Makhachala has turned into "one messy construction site." Today he reposted content from geographer and teacher Dmitry Koryukhin, who posted aerial photographs of Makhachkala showing what he described as an urban catastrophe. The post notes this is a problem not just in Dagestan but across Russia, where massive residential complexes are being built even as populations in many cities are declining or stagnating.
