Former Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov believes Alexander Ovechkin is currently more recognizable in America than Khabib Nurmagomedov. In an interview, Nemkov explained that many American children play hockey from a young age and know who Ovechkin is, especially after he broke Wayne Gretzky's record. Nemkov stated that Ovechkin continues to set records and remains in the spotlight constantly, while Khabib is no longer as famous and doesn't appear in the news as frequently since his retirement. Nemkov acknowledged both would be recognized but gave the edge to Ovechkin due to hockey's widespread participation among youth in America.
