Ilia Topuria claims he was originally offered a fight with Islam Makhachev for announcement at the White House event but was told hours before the announcement that Makhachev was injured and he would fight Justin Gaethje instead. Topuria questions why Makhachev doesn't want to fight him. Makhachev responded stating he agreed to the White House fight but was told the next day that Topuria requested a huge fee and was denied, calling Topuria's version a lie. A fan joked about the 4am response time, to which Makhachev cryptically replied "Today it's not him." The post also briefly mentions that Jorge Masvidal and Paifer picked Strickland over Chimaev, and that Du Plessis ranked Adesanya as most technical and Strickland and Tavares as toughest opponents, not including Chimaev.
