Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov and his team were attacked by a crowd in the ring after he knocked out local Turkish boxer Emirhan Kalkan in the second round in Trabzon. Gorokhov was celebrating when a man in civilian clothes, apparently connected to Kalkan, entered the ring and reprimanded him. After Gorokhov approached without malicious intent, he was pushed, and his cornerman Ismail then pushed the man back. A mob rushed the ring and began assaulting Gorokhov and his team. Two of his cornermen were taken to the hospital. After being released, the three immediately drove from Trabzon to Georgia, removing their Russian license plates for safety. They arrived safely in Georgia.
