Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov and his team were attacked by a mob in Turkey following his second-round knockout victory over local fighter Emirhan Kalkan. Gorokhov, who entered the fight with a 16-11-2 record, stopped the previously undefeated Kalkan (7-0) after scoring a knockdown in the first round. After celebrating his victory, Gorokhov was approached by a man in civilian clothes who appeared connected to Kalkan. When Gorokhov's cornerman Ismail pushed this man, approximately 50 people rushed into the ring and attacked Gorokhov and his team. Ismail and another cornerman were taken to the hospital. Following treatment, the team immediately drove from Trabzon to Georgia, removing their Russian license plates as a precaution. All three made it safely to Georgia.
