Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov (16-11-2 before the fight) and his team were attacked by a mob in the ring following his second-round knockout victory over local fighter Emirhan Kalkan (7-0) in Turkey. After Gorokhov celebrated his win, a man in civilian clothes approached and yelled at him. When Gorokhov approached without malicious intent, the man pushed him, then Gorokhov's cornerman Ismail pushed back, triggering a crowd invasion of the ring. Approximately 50 people attacked Gorokhov and his team, with Ismail and another cornerman requiring hospitalization. Following treatment, the three immediately drove from Trabzon to Georgia, removing their Russian license plates as a precaution. The incident represents a serious breach of sporting conduct and safety.
