ONE Championship releases Garry Tonon, Magomed Akaev, and three others

ONE Championship has released a batch of fighters including MMA athletes Garry Tonon (9-2) and Magomed Akaev (10-2), as well as Muay Thai fighters Stefan Korodi (2-3-0), Amber Kitchen (0-2-0), and Zafer Sayik (0-3-0). The post notes that aside from Tonon, the other fighters had unsuccessful runs in ONE with poor records and limited media presence. Tonon, however, fought all his professional MMA bouts in ONE, had a solid number of victories, challenged for the title, and is one of the most accomplished and decorated grapplers in the world. His release is considered surprising given his credentials. No official reason for the releases was provided.
