Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, shared memories from Khabib Nurmagomedov's UFC 223 championship victory eight years ago in Brooklyn. Bostanov recalled arriving the day of the infamous Artem Lobov confrontation and managing to interview Lobov. When Bostanov encountered Khabib's team, manager Ali Abdelaziz told him to stay away, but Khabib intervened saying "This is our guy, he's just doing his work." Bostanov remembered 20-30 Dagestanis gathering at the hotel prepared to protect Khabib from Conor McGregor's team. He also revealed that Zabit Magomedsharipov broke two fingers during his warm-up but fought anyway without telling the athletic commission. After the event, Khabib took photos with everyone despite being exhausted and spoke with numerous people via video call in his hotel room, showing characteristic hospitality even in his championship moment.
