Kholmirzaev becomes ONE flyweight champion; Rodtang suffers first stoppage loss in 13 years

At ONE Samurai 1, Avazbek Kholmirzaev (16-2, 10-1 ONE) became the new flyweight MMA champion at age 25 by knocking out Yuya Wakamatsu in the second round. The 25-year-old demonstrated high-level striking with excellent timing, creativity, and a killer instinct. In a historic upset, Takeru Segawa handed Muay Thai and kickboxing legend Rodtang Jitmuangnon his first stoppage loss in 13 years, winning the interim ONE flyweight kickboxing title via fifth-round TKO. The event also featured successful title defenses by Jonathan Haggerty and Nadaka Yoshinari, plus a first-round knockout victory by Marat Grigorian over Kaito Ono.
