In a podcast with Robert Kennedy Jr., Mike Tyson reflected on the poor quality food he consumed during his three years in prison, describing it as full of sugar and processed chemicals. Tyson recalled that the prison cafeteria only sold donuts, chips, and sugary items, with the healthiest option being over-salted soup. He believes the ultra-processed food contributes to increased violence in prisons, making inmates more aggressive and prone to fighting over minor issues. Kennedy cited research showing that improving prison food quality can reduce violence by 50% and disciplinary measures in juvenile facilities by 70%. Tyson credited his mentor Cus D'Amato with teaching him proper nutrition, contrasting his upbringing where his family could only afford processed food. He currently maintains a breakfast of eggs, sometimes with cheese, and believes seafood is the best food for burning fat.
