He recalled that the prison cafeteria sold only donuts, chips, and sugary items with minimal healthy options. Tyson believes this poor nutrition contributes to increased violence in prisons, noting that when diet quality improves, violence decreases by 50% according to research Kennedy cited. Tyson contrasted his prison experience with his current lifestyle, where he focuses on healthy eating including eggs, cheese, and seafood for breakfast, crediting his mentor Cus D'Amato with teaching him proper nutrition.
