Avazbek Kholmirzaev wins ONE Championship flyweight title at Samurai 1

Avazbek Kholmirzaev became the new ONE Championship flyweight MMA champion by knocking out Yuya Wakamatsu in the second round at ONE Samurai 1. The 25-year-old Kholmirzaev improved his record to 16-2 overall and 10-1 in ONE Championship, showcasing excellent striking, timing, creativity, and killer instinct. In another highlight, Takeru Segawa ended Rodtang Jitmuangnon's 13-year unbeaten streak with a fifth-round TKO victory to claim the interim ONE flyweight kickboxing title. The event also featured successful title defenses by Jonathan Haggerty in kickboxing and Nadaka Yoshinari in Muay Thai. Itsuki Hirata submitted Ritu Phogat in the third round.
