Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, shared memories from Khabib Nurmagomedov's UFC 223 title victory in Brooklyn eight years ago. He recounted how Ali Abdelaziz initially told him to stay away from their team, but Khabib intervened saying "This is our guy, he's just doing his job." Bostanov described how 20-30 Dagestanis gathered at the hotel entrance when word spread that Conor McGregor's team might arrive, ready to prevent any provocations. He also revealed that Zabit Magomedsharipov broke two fingers during his warm-up but kept it secret to avoid being pulled from the fight. After the event, despite exhaustion, Khabib took time to greet the huge crowd in his hotel, posed for photos, and spoke with everyone who called their friends via video. Years later, Khabib recognized and offered Bostanov a ride when he spotted him on the street.
