The UFC's latest rankings update, released on May 5, 2026, has reshuffled the welterweight and lightweight divisions, with Ian Garry ascending to the number one contender spot at 170 pounds and several other fighters seeing significant movement up and down the board.

At welterweight, Carlos Prates climbed to second place in the division, while Jack Della Maddalena slipped to fourth. The Australian, who trains out of Scrappy MMA, carries an 18-4 record and is 29 years old. Ranked 13th pound-for-pound, Della Maddalena is one of the division's most active strikers, averaging 5.57 significant strikes per minute at 51 percent accuracy. He operates out of a switch stance and stands five-foot-eleven with a 73-inch reach.

The lightweight division also saw movement in both directions. Quillan Salkilld, a 26-year-old Australian out of Luistro Combat Academy, broke into the top 15 at number 15 following a 12-1 career. Standing six feet tall with a 75-inch reach, Salkilld is a dynamic mixed threat, averaging 5.16 significant strikes per minute at an impressive 57 percent accuracy alongside a remarkable 7.95 takedowns per 15 minutes. Meanwhile, Beneil Dariush fell to 14th at lightweight. The 37-year-old American southpaw, who trains at Kings MMA, holds a 23-8-1 record and has long been a divisional mainstay, averaging 3.78 significant strikes per minute and 2.11 takedowns per 15 minutes over his career. In the heavyweight division, Brendson Perichic broke into the top 15.
