Russian MMA fighters have been permitted to compete in international youth tournaments with their national flag and anthem. Winners of the Russian championship among athletes aged 12 to 17, held in Alushta, will be eligible to participate in IMMAF international competitions this year. Mikhail Degtyarev announced the development via his Telegram channel, stating that IMMAF has restored the membership of the Union of MMA of Russia. This marks a significant policy shift allowing young Russian fighters to represent their country openly at international events. The decision applies specifically to the youth division and represents a reversal of previous restrictions.
