Footage has emerged of Khamzat Chimaev's first amateur MMA bout, which took place in September 2017 in Sweden under the Fight Club Rush promotion. Chimaev won the fight by submission in the second round, displaying the finishing ability that would later define his professional career. He competed in three total amateur fights before transitioning to professional MMA the following year in 2018. His opponent in that debut fight was Khaled Laalam, who currently holds a 7-1 professional record and competes in the UAE Warriors promotion. The Fight Club Rush organization continues to operate and their events are available on Fight Pass.
