Footage has emerged of Khamzat Chimaev's first amateur MMA bout, which took place in September 2017 in Sweden under the Fight Club Rush promotion. Chimaev won the fight via rear-naked choke in the second round. He went on to win three amateur fights total before transitioning to professional MMA the following year. His opponent in that debut fight was Khaled Laalam, who is now 7-1 as a professional and currently competing in UAE Warriors. Fight Club Rush, the organization where Chimaev made his amateur debut, continues to operate and their events are still broadcast on Fight Pass.
