Footage surfaces of Khamzat Chimaev's first amateur MMA fight in 2017

Video has emerged showing Khamzat Chimaev's amateur MMA debut, which took place in September 2017 in Sweden under the Fight Club Rush promotion. Chimaev won the bout via submission in the second round against opponent Khaled Laalam. He competed in only three amateur fights total before transitioning to professional MMA the following year in 2018. His opponent Laalam has since turned professional and currently holds a 7-1 record while competing in UAE Warriors.
