Video footage has emerged of Khamzat Chimaev's amateur MMA debut from September 2017 in Sweden. Chimaev won the fight by submission in the second round, showcasing the skills that would later make him a UFC prospect. He compiled a 3-0 amateur record with Fight Club Rush before turning professional the following year in 2018. His opponent in that debut bout, Khaled Laalam, has since gone on to a 7-1 professional record competing in UAE Warriors. The footage provides a glimpse into Chimaev's early fighting development before his rapid rise in the UFC.
