Video has emerged of Khamzat Chimaev's first amateur fight, which took place in Sweden in September 2017. Chimaev finished the bout with a submission in the second round. He won three amateur fights total before turning professional in 2018. The fight occurred at Fight Club Rush, an organization that continues to hold events and is broadcast on Fight Pass. Chimaev's opponent in that amateur debut was Khaled Laalam, who currently holds a 7-1 professional record and competes in UAE Warriors.
