Lightweight contender Mateusz Gamrot shared his perspective that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than the United States. Speaking on the "WojewódzkiKędzierski" podcast, Gamrot described Americans as not particularly hospitable, citing experiences where he was invited to barbecues but had to bring his own food or go hungry. He contrasted this with Polish hospitality where guests are fed and cared for. Gamrot noted that Poland had portable payment terminals ten years before they became common in American restaurants, and criticized American social interactions as superficial. While acknowledging advantages for sports careers in the US, Gamrot emphasized that daily life is not necessarily better there, and his children even preferred returning to their grandmother in Poland over staying at a Florida beach.
