Tapology has added a new feature to UFC fighter profiles that calculates and displays each fighter's level of opposition on a scale from 1 to 99. The rating is determined by a specific formula available on the website and considers only the fighter's last six UFC bouts, excluding fights in other organizations. For UFC 328, Sean Strickland leads with a rating of 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. At the lower end, Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzie Diaz both have ratings of 4. This new metric provides fans and analysts with a quantitative measure of the quality of competition each fighter has faced recently.

Tapology has rolled out a new opposition-level rating system for UFC fighter profiles ahead of UFC 328, scheduled for May 9, 2026, giving fans and analysts a numerical snapshot of the quality of competition each fighter has recently faced.

The feature assigns every UFC fighter a score on a scale from 1 to 99, calculated using a formula published on the Tapology website. Crucially, the metric draws only from a fighter's last six UFC bouts, meaning appearances in other promotions have no bearing on the score. For UFC 328, Sean Strickland leads all fighters with a rating of 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzie Diaz each sit at 4.

Alexander Volkov
Alexander Volkov

Strickland, the 35-year-old middleweight champion from the United States who trains out of Xtreme Couture, carries a professional record of 31-7-0. His high rating reflects a recent run through elite competition in a stacked 185-pound division. He averages 6.04 significant strikes per minute and lands at 42 percent accuracy, with a six-foot-one frame and a 76-inch reach.

Volkov, ranked first in the heavyweight division, earns his 67 rating with a career mark of 40-11-0. The 37-year-old Russian, who competes out of Strela Team, stands six-foot-seven with an 80-inch reach and posts a striking accuracy of 57 percent — among the sharpest in his weight class.

Why it matters

  • The rating offers a fast, standardized way to compare the depth of any fighter's recent schedule inside the UFC.
  • Limiting the window to six bouts keeps the metric current and prevents older, potentially less relevant performances from skewing results.
  • Wide gaps between fighters on the same card — from 74 down to 4 — highlight how unevenly opposition quality is distributed across the roster heading into UFC 328.
