Tapology has added a new feature to UFC fighter profiles that calculates and displays an "opposition level" rating on a scale from 1 to 99. The metric is calculated using a specific formula based on a fighter's last six UFC bouts, with fights in other organizations excluded from the calculation. Among UFC 328 participants, Sean Strickland has the highest rating at 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. The lowest ratings on the card include Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzie Diaz at 4, and Jorden Santos at 6. The system provides a quantifiable measure of schedule strength for fighters on the roster.

Tapology has rolled out a new opposition level metric for UFC fighter profiles, assigning each competitor a schedule-strength rating on a scale from one to 99 based on their last six octagon appearances, with bouts outside the UFC excluded from the calculation.

The feature surfaces some notable figures among the UFC 328 card scheduled for May 9. Middleweight champion Sean Strickland leads all participants with a rating of 74. The 35-year-old American out of Xtreme Couture carries a 31-7-0 record and has built a reputation as one of the busiest strikers in the division, landing 6.04 significant strikes per minute at 42 percent accuracy across a 76-inch reach. Heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov checks in third on the card at 67. The 37-year-old Russian, ranked first in the heavyweight division at 40-11-0, brings both size and precision to the table at six-foot-seven with a 57 percent striking accuracy rate. Khamzat Chimaev sits between the two at 69, second among UFC 328 fighters in the new metric.

At the other end of the scale, Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzie Diaz each register a 4, while Jorden Santos comes in at 6, reflecting their more limited UFC competition histories to date.

Why it matters

  • The metric gives fans and analysts a quick, standardized way to compare schedule strength across the roster rather than relying on subjective assessments.
  • Fighters like Strickland and Volkov, who have consistently faced ranked opposition, are rewarded with higher scores that reflect their deep UFC competition histories.
  • Newer or less-tested roster members register low scores by design, making the metric a useful indicator of UFC experience level as much as opposition quality.
  • Because only the last six UFC bouts count, the rating is designed to reflect current competitive context rather than a fighter's entire career arc.
