Tapology has introduced a new feature calculating the level of opposition faced by UFC fighters, expressed in a score from 1 to 99. The metric is calculated using a specific formula based on a fighter's last six UFC fights, with bouts in other organizations not counted. For UFC 328, Sean Strickland has the highest opposition level at 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. The lowest scores on the card belong to Baysangur Susurkayev and Ozzy Diaz, both at 4. The new metric provides fans and analysts with a quantifiable measure of the quality of competition each fighter has faced in the UFC.
Tapology has rolled out a new opponent strength metric for UFC fighter profiles, assigning each competitor a score between 1 and 99 that reflects the caliber of opposition they have faced inside the octagon. The feature launched ahead of UFC 328, scheduled for May 9, 2026, and draws on a fighter's last six UFC appearances exclusively, with bouts in other promotions excluded from the calculation.

Among the fighters on the UFC 328 card, middleweight champion Sean Strickland leads all competitors with an opponent strength score of 74. The 35-year-old from the United States trains out of Xtreme Couture and carries a 31-7-0 professional record. Known for his relentless output, Strickland lands 6.04 significant strikes per minute at 42 percent accuracy, with a reach of 76 inches backing up his pressure-heavy style.

Khamzat Chimaev ranks second on the card at 69, followed closely by heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov at 67. Volkov, a 37-year-old Russian fighting out of the Strela Team, holds the number-one ranking in the heavyweight division and owns a 40-11-0 record across his career. At six-foot-seven with an 80-inch reach, he lands 4.78 significant strikes per minute at a 57 percent accuracy clip.

Also appearing on the card is welterweight contender Sean Brady, ranked seventh in his division at 33 years old. Brady carries a 19-2-0 record and is one of the more active wrestlers in the welterweight class, averaging 3.53 takedowns per 15 minutes for the Renzo Gracie Philly team.

At the opposite end of the new metric, Baysangur Susurkayev and Ozzy Diaz each registered scores of 4, the lowest on the card, reflecting more limited UFC competition histories to date.

Why it matters
- The metric gives fans and analysts a standardized, data-driven way to compare career paths across different fighters and divisions.
- High scores for Strickland and Chimaev reinforce their positioning among the most battle-tested names on the card.
- UFC-only scope means prospects with strong records built outside the promotion may carry lower scores despite quality resumes.
