Tapology has launched a new feature that calculates and displays an opposition level rating for UFC fighters in their profiles. The metric uses a proprietary formula to generate scores ranging from 1 to 99, based exclusively on each fighter's last six UFC bouts, with fights in other organizations excluded from the calculation. In the UFC 328 card, Sean Strickland leads with an opposition level of 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. The lowest ratings on the card belong to Baisangur Susurkayev and Ozzy Diaz, both at 4, followed by Jorden Santos at 6. The new metric provides fans and analysts with a quantified measure of the quality of competition each fighter has faced in the UFC.
Tapology has unveiled a new opposition level metric for UFC fighters, rolling out the feature across fighter profiles ahead of UFC 328, scheduled for May 9, 2026.

The rating system generates scores on a scale of one to 99 using a proprietary formula, drawing exclusively from each fighter's last six UFC bouts. Fights completed outside the UFC are not factored into the calculation, giving the metric a strictly promotion-specific focus.

Among the fighters slated for UFC 328, Sean Strickland leads the card with an opposition level of 74. The 35-year-old middleweight champion from the United States trains out of Xtreme Couture and carries a professional record of 31-7-0. Standing six-foot-one with a 76-inch reach, Strickland is one of the most active strikers in the division, landing 6.04 significant strikes per minute.

Khamzat Chimaev follows at 69, with heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov third at 67. Volkov, a 37-year-old Russian competing out of Strela Team, holds a 40-11-0 record and ranks first in the heavyweight division. At six-foot-seven with an 80-inch reach, he posts a striking accuracy of 57 percent over 4.78 significant strikes per minute.

At the other end of the spectrum, Baisangur Susurkayev and Ozzy Diaz share the card's lowest rating at 4, with Jorden Santos just above them at 6, reflecting limited UFC-specific competition history under the formula's parameters.

Why it matters
- The metric offers a standardized, data-driven way to compare quality of competition across fighters and divisions within the UFC.
- High opposition scores for fighters like Strickland and Volkov reinforce their positioning at the top of their respective divisions ahead of UFC 328.
- By excluding non-UFC bouts, the system highlights how fighters with extensive records outside the promotion may score lower despite strong overall careers.
