Tapology has launched a new feature displaying opponent quality levels for UFC fighters, rated on a scale from 1 to 99. The rating is calculated using a specific formula based on a fighter's last six UFC bouts only, excluding fights in other organizations. For UFC 328, Sean Strickland leads with a rating of 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. The lowest ratings on the card belong to Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzie Diaz, both at 4. This metric provides fans with a quantified measure of the competition level each fighter has faced recently.

Tapology has unveiled a new opponent quality rating system for UFC fighters, giving fans a numerical snapshot of the competition level each athlete has faced in their recent Octagon appearances, ahead of UFC 328 on May 9, 2026.

The rating runs on a scale from 1 to 99 and is calculated exclusively from a fighter's last six UFC bouts, leaving out any performances in other promotions. For the UFC 328 card, middleweight champion Sean Strickland leads all fighters with a rating of 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov at 67. At the other end of the spectrum, Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzie Diaz both sit at 4, the lowest marks on the card.

Strickland, 35, holds a 31-7-0 record and is the reigning middleweight champion, representing the United States out of Xtreme Couture. Standing six-foot-one with a 76-inch reach, he lands 6.04 significant strikes per minute, one of the higher output rates in his division.

Volkov, known as Drago, enters UFC 328 ranked first in the heavyweight division with a 40-11-0 record. The 37-year-old Russian stands six-foot-seven with an 80-inch reach and connects on 57 percent of his significant strikes, a mark that reflects sharp technical output for a heavyweight.

Also on the card is welterweight contender Sean Brady, ranked seventh at 155 pounds with a 19-2-0 record. The 33-year-old from Renzo Gracie Philly is a consistent wrestling threat, averaging 3.53 takedowns per 15 minutes and landing 55 percent of his significant strikes.

Why it matters

  • The metric gives a standardized way to compare schedule difficulty across fighters on the same card
  • Strickland's top score of 74 reflects championship-level competition during his recent title run
  • Low scores for certain fighters highlight experience gaps heading into UFC 328
  • The UFC-only calculation means decorated veterans from other promotions may be rated lower than their full resumes would suggest
