Alexander Volkov shared his perspective on Victory Day and how he educates his children about the holiday despite living abroad. Volkov described the day as more somber than celebratory for him, expressing gratitude to veterans while mourning the tragedy of war itself. He stated he raises his children with a pacifist philosophy emphasizing that war should never happen, echoing Soviet-era sentiments of wishing for peaceful skies. When asked about his view of Moscow five years after previously describing it negatively as characterized by dirt, traffic, and construction, Volkov reversed his assessment. After visiting last summer, he now considers Moscow the best city in the world for living, beauty, and overall quality. He enthusiastically defended this position to teammates in New Jersey, praising the city's cleanliness and improvements.
