Alexander Volkov shared his thoughts on Victory Day (May 9) and how he educates his children, who live abroad, about the holiday. Volkov described May 9 as a day he approaches more with sorrow than joy, expressing gratitude to veterans while lamenting that such a war ever occurred. He emphasized teaching his children pacifist values in the positive sense, instilling the Soviet-era sentiment of "as long as there's no war" and wishing for peaceful skies overhead. Regarding Moscow, Volkov reversed his previous criticism from five years ago when he described the city as "dirt, traffic jams, construction." After visiting last summer, he now considers Moscow the best city in the world for living, beauty, and overall quality. He told teammates in New Jersey that everything in Moscow is now excellent and worthy.
