Alexander Volkov shared his thoughts on Victory Day and how he's raising his children while living abroad. He described May 9th as a holiday he approaches more with sorrow than joy, expressing gratitude to veterans while lamenting that such a war happened at all. Volkov said he teaches his children a pacifist attitude with the principle "as long as there's no war," reflecting Soviet-era values about peace. When asked to describe Moscow in three words, he contrasted his current view with a 2021 assessment where he cited "dirt, traffic jams, construction." After visiting last summer, Volkov now declares Moscow "the best city in the world," praising its cleanliness, beauty, and overall quality of life. He told teammates in New Jersey that Moscow surpasses all other cities for both living and aesthetics.
