Chimaev's brother blames weight cut for UFC 328 loss, wants October rematch

Said Chimaev, Hamzat's older brother, gave an interview explaining his brother's poor performance against Strickland at UFC 328. When the bout was announced in March, Hamzat weighed 105 kg, expecting to fight Jiri Prochazka at light heavyweight. Two weeks before UFC 328, he still weighed 97 kg. With 1-2 kg remaining to cut, his body shut down and the cut was paused for an hour before he made weight. After weighing in, Chimaev only regained 5-6 kg before the fight. Chimaev's team has requested a rematch with Strickland at middleweight for October in Abu Dhabi.
