Carlos Prates' 'Nightmare' nickname originated from childhood TV show character

Carlos Prates' nickname 'The Nightmare' did not originate from his fighting style as many believe. In the 2000s, a popular Brazilian children's show called 'Sítio do Picapau Amarelo' featured a character named Pesadelo, which translates to 'Nightmare.' Prates' friends thought he resembled this character and nicknamed him accordingly. The nickname later transferred perfectly from his personal life to his professional fighting career.
