Kyrgyzstan is experiencing significant growth in MMA talent beyond early representatives like Valentina Shevchenko and Rafael Fiziev. The post highlights six emerging champions and top contenders: Razhabali Shaidullaev (19-0, Rizin featherweight champion), Zhakshylyk Myrzabekov (15-2, interim ACA welterweight champion), Edil Esengulov (14-4, on a three-fight ACA finish streak), Akbar Abdullaev (13-0, five straight KO/TKO wins in ONE Championship), Kubanych Abdisalam (23-3, former undefeated Brave lightweight champion), and Myktydbek Orolbay (10-2, pursuing UFC welterweight top-15). The analysis notes these fighters are relatively young and showing genuine high-level skills across major promotions.

Kyrgyzstan is quietly building a pipeline of elite mixed martial arts talent, with a new wave of fighters making noise across multiple major promotions as of mid-2026.

The country's most celebrated exports remain Valentina Shevchenko and Rafael Fiziev, both products of Tiger Muay Thai. Shevchenko, 38, holds a 26-4-1 record and is the reigning UFC Women's Flyweight champion, landing 3.14 significant strikes per minute at 52 percent accuracy while averaging 2.62 takedowns per 15 minutes. Fiziev, 33, competes at lightweight and sits ranked seventh in the UFC division, carrying a 14-5 record and one of the sharpest striking outputs in the sport at 4.71 significant strikes per minute. It should be noted that Fiziev is listed in the AgentMMA database as representing Kazakhstan.

Yet the broader Kyrgyzstan MMA scene has grown well beyond those two names. Six fighters in particular are drawing attention across Rizin, ACA, ONE Championship, and Brave CF. Razhabali Shaidullaev is unbeaten at 19-0 and holds the Rizin featherweight title. Zhakshylyk Myrzabekov carries a 15-2 record and currently holds the interim ACA welterweight championship. Edil Esengulov, at 14-4, has finished his last three opponents inside the ACA cage. Akbar Abdisalam has gone 13-0 with five consecutive KO/TKO victories in ONE Championship. Kubanych Abdisalam compiled a 23-3 mark that includes a run as the undefeated Brave lightweight champion. Myktydbek Orolbay sits at 10-2 and is actively pushing toward the UFC welterweight top 15.

Why it matters

  • Multiple Kyrgyz fighters are holding or chasing titles across Rizin, ACA, ONE, and Brave CF simultaneously
  • The group spans several divisions, suggesting the talent development is broad rather than concentrated in a single weight class
  • Their collective youth means the ceiling for this generation remains largely untested at the highest levels
