18-year-old Demid Volkov wins Russian combat sambo title in middleweight division

Demid Volkov became the Russian combat sambo champion in the men's 88kg division in March at age 18. The St. Petersburg native trains under Alexander Korshunov and spars with Denis Goltsov, Moknatkin, and Khadis Ibragimov. Volkov won the junior MMA championship in the 93kg division by defeating Platon Lebedev through clinch work and throws.
