The UFC has released seven fighters from its roster. Lando Vannata (4-8-2 UFC) spent 10 years with the promotion and went winless in three fights over the past four years. Jamie Mullarkey (6-7 UFC) competed for seven years but never won more than two consecutive bouts. Daniel Marcos (5-1 UFC) was released after his contract expired in November, with the UFC declining to offer a new deal. Vince Morales (3-9 UFC) lost four straight after returning to the promotion. The roster cuts also include Austin Lane (1-5 UFC), Max Griffin (8-11 UFC), and Jesus Aguilar (4-3 UFC).
The UFC trimmed seven fighters from its roster on May 29, 2026, parting ways with a group of veterans and mid-roster names that includes lightweight fan favorite Lando Vannata and Australian action fighter Jamie Mullarkey.

Vannata, who spent a decade with the promotion, went winless across his final three appearances over the past four years, finishing his UFC tenure with a 4-8-2 record. His run with the organization was one of the longer ones among fighters at his level, making the eventual departure a notable moment for the lightweight division's older guard.

Mullarkey, 31, exits after seven years and a 6-7 UFC record that never included a winning streak longer than two consecutive bouts. The Australian lightweight owned a 18-9-0 professional mark overall and brought genuine excitement to his fights, averaging 4.1 significant strikes per minute at 46 percent accuracy with an active takedown game of 2.46 attempts per 15 minutes.

Daniel Marcos draws particular attention given his overall résumé. The 33-year-old from Peru carried an 18-1-0 professional record and went 5-1 inside the octagon, but his contract expired in November and the promotion chose not to extend an offer. Marcos was one of the more accurate strikers in his division, connecting at 53 percent and averaging 4.9 significant strikes per minute.

Vince Morales, a 35-year-old orthodox bantamweight out of Syndicate MMA, finishes with a 3-9 UFC record after dropping four straight following his return to the promotion. His overall mark stands at 16-11-0.

The cuts are rounded out by Austin Lane, who went 1-5 in the octagon, welterweight veteran Max Griffin at 8-11, and Jesus Aguilar at 4-3.

Why it matters
- Marcos enters free agency as one of the more intriguing available lightweights given his near-perfect overall record
- Mullarkey and Vannata both bring name recognition that could attract interest from Bellator, PFL, or regional promotions
- The seven-fighter cut signals routine roster maintenance as the UFC manages divisional depth heading into the second half of 2026
