Merab Dvalishvili confirmed that UFC officials told him he would face Petr Yan in a trilogy bout, but Yan has undergone a minor surgery and dental work. Dvalishvili made himself available to fight in June but Yan is currently on vacation. The UFC has stated there will be no interim title and the winner of Sean O'Malley versus Umar Nurmagomedov will face the winner of Dvalishvili-Yan.
