The 38-year-old Brazilian carries a 25-6-1 professional record and has long been considered one of the more dangerous submission artists in the lower weight classes, averaging 1.2 submission attempts per 15 minutes. He found no answer for Yadong's finishing instincts when it mattered most, tapping out before the second round expired.
In the co-feature, Sergei Pavlovich delivered one of the night's most emphatic performances, stopping Glover Teixeira in just 39 seconds. Teixeira, the 46-year-old Brazilian veteran, holds a professional record of 33-9.
