Ex-Jackson-Wink GM Reveals the Damage Aaron Pico Inflicted on Sparring Partners

June 7, 2026

Quick read

Mikhail Lyubimov, a former general manager at Jackson-Wink MMA, has described Aaron Pico as one of the most dangerous sparring partners he ever witnessed, recounting partners leaving with broken ribs, orbital fractures, and being knocked unconscious. Lyubimov says Pico eventually had to travel to different gyms because training partners at Jackson-Wink began refusing to work with him, and that his intensity also created a rift with teammate Steve Garcia. He added that Pico has spent significant time training in Morocco, where resources and sparring partners are provided at a high level, though recent footage shows him back training at Cub Swanson's gym in California.
