Shara Bullet disclosed that he contracted dengue fever during a training camp in Thailand ahead of his bout with Barrio, spending two weeks bedridden with a fever of 40°C, developing pustules, and suffering hair loss. He flew to Abu Dhabi still weakened and managed to win the fight. Immediately after the contest he underwent surgery, and for two weeks post-operation he was unable to breathe properly.
