Shara Bullet has disclosed that he contracted dengue fever during a training camp in Thailand ahead of his fight against Barrio, spending roughly two weeks bedridden with a 40°C fever, skin sores, and hair loss. He recovered enough to travel to Abu Dhabi and win the bout, but required surgery immediately afterward and went two days without sleep as his body remained in a heightened state. Bullet described the entire ordeal as one of the hardest periods of his career.
