Magomedrasul Gasanov was removed from his scheduled fight against Abubakar Wagaev after UFC flagged a substance found in his medical history. According to Gasanov's sparring partner Ikram Aliskerov, Gasanov submitted records of all supplements taken over the past six months, passed a subsequent drug test, and maintains he has been clean, but UFC required further re-testing due to the substance's prolonged presence in the bloodstream. Aliskerov compared the situation to the meldonium cases that previously ensnared multiple fighters, including Islam Makhachev.
