Rafael Fiziev stands alone at the top of an unofficial but telling leaderboard: the Kazakh striker has earned eight UFC post-fight bonuses, more than any other fighter from the former Soviet Union.

Fiziev edges out a crowded chasing pack. Khamzat Chimaev and Ilia Topuria each sit on seven bonuses, as does Dennis Siver, the veteran German-based fighter who was born in Omsk and spent his first 17 years in Russia. Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan are tied with six apiece.

Ilia Topuria

Topuria, 29, carries a 17-1-0 record and currently holds the number-two divisional ranking in the lightweight division, with a pound-for-pound ranking of first. The Spaniard of Georgian descent averages 4.81 significant strikes per minute, one of the more prolific output rates in the sport, and his bonus count reflects the entertaining nature of his performances.

Makhachev, 34, is the reigning welterweight champion and sits atop the pound-for-pound rankings at number one. The Russian southpaw owns a 28-1-0 record and blends elite grappling — 3.2 takedowns per 15 minutes — with a striking accuracy of 58 percent, the highest among the fighters listed here.

Siver, now 47, compiled his seven bonuses across a lengthy 34-fight UFC career. Fighting out of Germany, the Omsk-born orthodox striker averaged 3.87 significant strikes per minute and posted a final record of 23-11-0.

Why it matters

  • Fiziev's eight bonuses mark him as the most consistently spectacular performer from the CIS region by this measure
  • Topuria and Chimaev's seven bonuses each carry extra weight given both are still active and near the top of their respective divisions
  • Makhachev's six bonuses are notable given his grappling-heavy, championship-level style, which does not always lend itself to finish-of-the-night recognition
