Paulo Costa has announced his intention to fight in both the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions simultaneously, with ambitions to become a title contender in each weight class. The Brazilian explained that his move to light heavyweight is not because he struggles to make 185 pounds, but rather part of a strategic plan. Costa stated he simply received a good opportunity to compete at 205 pounds and took advantage of it. He emphasized that everything is calculated and that he maintains the ability to cut down to middleweight when needed. This dual-division approach would make Costa one of the few active UFC fighters attempting to remain relevant in two weight classes at once. The strategy reflects his confidence in competing at different sizes.
