Zabit Magomedsharipov has pulled out of his grappling bout against Raul Rosas Jr. due to a health issue. His brother Hassan Magomedsharipov will replace him in the contest.
Zabit Magomedsharipov has withdrawn from his scheduled ACB Jiu-Jitsu grappling match against Raul Rosas Jr. due to a health issue, with his brother Hassan Magomedsharipov stepping in as a last-minute replacement.
Zabit, 35, is one of the most recognizable names in Russian MMA. The six-foot-one featherweight carries an 18-1-0 professional record and trains out of Ricardo Almeida Jiu-Jitsu. His MMA career numbers reflect a well-rounded game, averaging 5.22 takedowns per 15 minutes alongside a striking output of 4.89 significant strikes per minute at 48 percent accuracy. The nature and severity of his health issue have not been disclosed.
Stepping into the grappling contest on short notice is his brother Hassan Magomedsharipov, who will now face Rosas Jr. in Zabit's place. No verified career data for Hassan was available at the time of this report.
Rosas Jr., known as "El Nino Problema," is just 21 years old and already holds a 12-1-0 record. The American grappler trains out of 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu Las Vegas and brings a submission-oriented approach to competition, averaging 1.1 submission attempts per 15 minutes in his MMA career. At five-foot-nine with a 67-inch reach, he is the smaller man physically but carries significant grappling pedigree into the contest.
Why it matters
- Zabit's withdrawal removes a high-profile name from the card just days before the event
- Hassan Magomedsharipov steps in under pressure, with little public information available about his competitive grappling resume
- Rosas Jr. faces a largely unknown opponent, shifting the dynamic of what was expected to be a marquee submission grappling matchup
