Max Holloway's son made headlines at UFC 329 after taunting Conor McGregor from ringside following McGregor's loss inside one minute. The moment added an notable subplot to the event's fallout.
A lighthearted moment at UFC 329 quickly captured social media attention when Max Holloway's son taunted Conor McGregor from ringside after McGregor suffered a loss inside the first minute of his bout on July 11, 2026.
Holloway himself was in attendance at the event, giving his son a front-row seat to the action. The fourth-ranked lightweight and number nine pound-for-pound fighter on the AgentMMA rankings, Holloway carries a 28-9-0 record and has long been one of the sport's most entertaining competitors. The 34-year-old Hawaiian, who trains out of Gracie Technics, averages an impressive 6.92 significant strikes landed per minute and holds a striking accuracy of 48 percent across his career.
McGregor, meanwhile, found himself on the wrong end of an embarrassing result. The 37-year-old Irishman from SBG Ireland holds a career record of 22-7-0 and had been attempting to recapture former glory. Known as "The Notorious," McGregor carries a 74-inch reach and a 49 percent striking accuracy, but none of those tools could save him from a defeat that lasted less than a single round.
Why it matters
- McGregor's sub-one-minute loss raises serious questions about where he stands among the lightweight division's elite.
- Holloway's son's ringside taunt added a personal dimension to the rivalry between two of MMA's biggest names.
- The moment underscores the broader narrative tension between Holloway, currently ranked fourth at lightweight, and McGregor, who holds no current divisional ranking in the AgentMMA database.
- The viral nature of the incident ensures the fallout from UFC 329 will extend well beyond the scorecards.
