Diego Lima, head coach of the legendary Chute Boxe gym, announced on September 2, 2026 that he would be renaming his Diego Lima Institute after the late Allan Nascimento, a deeply personal tribute to the fighter's memory and lasting impact on the team.

Lima made the emotional announcement publicly, saying the institution — previously bearing his own name — would henceforth be known as the Allan Nascimento Institute. The gesture underscores the profound bond between coach and fighter, and the weight Nascimento's loss carries within the Chute Boxe family.

Allan Nascimento

Allan "Puro Osso" Nascimento was a flyweight competitor who represented Chute Boxe Diego Lima throughout his professional career. The Brazilian fighter compiled a record of 22 wins and 7 losses and fought out of an orthodox stance, standing five-foot-eight with a 69-inch reach. Over the course of his career he averaged 3.2 significant strikes landed per minute at a 51 percent striking accuracy, while also showing a well-rounded skillset on the ground with 1.04 takedowns per 15 minutes and 0.9 submission attempts per 15 minutes. He was 34 years old at the time of his passing.

Why it matters

  • Nascimento spent his career representing Chute Boxe Diego Lima, making the tribute a deeply internal and personal act for the gym's community.
  • The renaming elevates Nascimento's legacy beyond his competitive record, cementing his place in the storied history of one of Brazil's most recognised MMA institutions.
  • Chute Boxe carries enormous symbolic weight in combat sports, and attaching Nascimento's name to its training institute ensures his memory endures for the fighters who train there going forward.
