Evan Elder vs Samuel Sanchez Booked for UFC 334 on November 14

Evan Elder has been booked to face Samuel Sanchez at UFC 334 on November 14, a fresh addition to the card.

Elder arrives with a 10-2 record. The 29-year-old American trains out of Syndicate MMA and competes from a switch stance. Nicknamed "The Phenom," he stands five-foot-ten with a 72-inch reach, or 183 cm.

His numbers show a fighter who lives on the feet. Elder lands 5.66 significant strikes per minute and connects on 50 percent of his attempts, a rare mix of volume and accuracy. He is less of a wrestling threat, averaging 0.48 takedowns per 15 minutes, though he does offer a steady submission presence at 0.5 attempts per 15 minutes.

Sanchez is the other half of the matchup, and the fight gives UFC 334 another meaningful pairing as the card fills out. Further details on the card will follow as the promotion adds to the lineup.

Why it matters

• Elder's striking output, at better than five and a half significant strikes a minute with half of them landing, sets up a fight where pace and accuracy will be central.
• A switch-stance fighter with a 72-inch reach brings a tricky look, and the matchup will test how well Sanchez deals with that.
• With two losses on his ledger against ten wins, Elder has a chance to add another result to a record that is still taking shape.
