Khamzat Chimaev took a technical fall victory over Robbie Lawler, 11-0, in the co-main event of RAF 14 at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas, as first reported by MMA Fighting. The catchweight bout moved Chimaev to 3-0 in the promotion, while Lawler was making his RAF debut. Arman Tsarukyan faced Dillon Danis in the main event.
The result will register as a statement for Chimaev, whose most recent recorded fight came on May 9, 2026, when he lost a split decision to Sean Strickland over five rounds in a title fight at UFC 328. Before that, he beat Dricus Du Plessis by unanimous decision at UFC 319 to win the middleweight title, and finished Robert Whittaker by first-round submission at UFC 308. A 15-1 fighter, he is ranked number one at middleweight and tenth on the pound-for-pound list. The 32-year-old trains out of Allstars Training Center and represents the United Arab Emirates.

An 11-0 technical fall fits his statistical profile. Chimaev averages 5.29 takedowns per 15 minutes, and he lands 4.04 significant strikes per minute at 60 percent accuracy. He also attempts 1.8 submissions per 15 minutes.
Lawler, 44, arrived with a 30-16 record and a very different statistical profile. The American, who fights out of Kill Cliff FC, lands 3.85 significant strikes per minute at 47 percent accuracy. He averages just 0.65 takedowns per 15 minutes and no submission attempts. His most recent recorded fight was a first-round knockout of Niko Price at UFC 290 on July 8, 2023, and before that he lost by second-round TKO to Bryan Barberena at UFC 276 in 2022.

Why it matters
- Chimaev bounces back from his first recorded professional loss with a dominant win in a grappling-heavy format.
- The numbers show a clear contrast: Chimaev's takedown rate is more than eight times Lawler's (5.29 versus 0.65 per 15 minutes).
- The physical gap was modest. Chimaev is 6-foot-2 (188 cm) with a 75-inch reach, against Lawler's 5-foot-11 (180 cm) and 74-inch reach, but he is 12 years younger.
- Lawler, a southpaw, was unable to land enough offense to prevent the result, which ended with Chimaev ahead 11-0.
For Lawler, the debut in RAF ended in defeat to one of the most prolific wrestlers in the sport.
