Following his first professional defeat at the hands of Alexander Volkanovski, Movsar…
Quick read

Following his first professional defeat at the hands of Alexander Volkanovski, Movsar Evloev has seemingly changed his Instagram bio from “20-0” to “0-1.” A surprising change from the previously undefeated featherweight, who appears to be taking his first loss to heart. It’ll be interesting to see how Evloev responds when he makes his return to the Octagon. Movsar Evloev appears to have rewritten his Instagram bio after the first loss of his professional career, swapping the "20-0" that once defined him for "0-1." The change surfaced in the days after his second-round stoppage by Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 333 on October 24, where the featherweight title was on the line.

The edit reads as a fresh-start gesture from a fighter who had gone unbeaten through 20 pro bouts. Evloev now stands at 20-1-0, so the new bio is not his actual record, and it is unclear whether he means it as a symbolic reset.

The fighters

Evloev, 32, is a Russian fighter who trains out of American Top Team and sits at number one in the featherweight rankings. His numbers show a grinder who wins on control: he averages 4.78 takedowns per 15 minutes and lands 3.91 significant strikes per minute at 47 percent accuracy. Before the Volkanovski fight, his two most recent recorded wins were a majority decision over Lerone Murphy on March 21, 2026, and a unanimous decision over Aljamain Sterling on December 7, 2024. The stoppage at UFC 333 was the first time he failed to go the distance in that stretch.

Volkanovski, 38, is the featherweight champion and ranked third in the pound-for-pound standings. The Australian, who trains at Freestyle Fighting Gym, is 29-4-0 and lands 5.99 significant strikes per minute at 57 percent accuracy, well above Evloev's output on both counts. He came into UFC 333 off a unanimous decision over Diego Lopes on January 31, 2026, his second straight five-round title win against Lopes.

What the numbers show

  • Volkanovski, at 38, is six years older than Evloev, but he out-landed him by roughly two significant strikes per minute across their career averages.
  • Evloev holds a two-inch edge in reach, 72 inches to 71, and stands an inch taller at five-foot-seven against five-foot-six.
  • Evloev's takedown rate of 4.78 per 15 minutes is nearly three times Volkanovski's 1.63, yet the fight ended on the feet in the second round.

How quickly Evloev returns, and whether he earns another title shot, has not been reported.
