A new look at the UFC's pound-for-pound rankings puts Alexander Volkanovski at the top of the all-time list for longest consecutive stretch in the rankings. According to the figures circulating this week, the Australian has held a place for 6.9 years, ahead of Jon Jones in the historical ranking of streaks.

Jon Jones

Volkanovski, 38, is the reigning featherweight champion and currently sits third in the pound-for-pound rankings. His record stands at 29-4-0. The timing of the milestone is notable: his most recent recorded fight was a second-round KO/TKO win over Movsar Evloev in a title bout at UFC 333 on October 24, 2026, two days before the streak list surfaced. Before that, he beat Diego Lopes by unanimous decision at UFC 325 on January 31, 2026, and had also beaten Lopes by unanimous decision at UFC 314 in April 2025, both five-round title fights.

His numbers reflect the volume style that has kept him relevant. Volkanovski lands 5.99 significant strikes per minute at 57 percent accuracy and averages 1.63 takedowns per 15 minutes. He does it from the smaller frame, standing five-foot-six with a 71-inch reach.

Jones, 39, sits just behind him on the streak list. The Orthodox fighter is 28-1-0 and has built his career on the opposite physical profile: six-foot-four with an 84-inch reach. That is a 13-inch reach advantage over Volkanovski and 10 inches in height. Jones lands 4.38 significant strikes per minute at 58 percent accuracy and averages 1.89 takedowns per 15 minutes, with 0.5 submission attempts per 15 minutes.

Stipe Miocic

His most recent recorded fight was a third-round KO/TKO of Stipe Miocic in a title fight at UFC 309 on November 16, 2024. Before that, he submitted Ciryl Gane in the first round at UFC 285 in March 2023 and beat Dominick Reyes by unanimous decision at UFC 247 in February 2020.

Why it matters

  • Volkanovski's streak is still active, while Jones's long run is recorded against a competitive record that has been far less frequent in recent years.
  • The two sit one year apart in age, at 38 and 39, showing how long both have stayed near the top.
  • Their stat profiles differ sharply: Volkanovski leads in striking output by 1.61 significant strikes per minute, while Jones holds a slight edge in accuracy and takedowns.

The list underlines how rare sustained relevance is in a sport where rankings can shift after a single loss.
