The table runs newest to oldest and preserves the stored result for each bout. It includes the no-contest at UFC 321 because the fight began as an undisputed title bout. A no-contest adds no win or loss to either fighter’s title-fight record.

How this list is counted

The entry rule is simple: a fighter needs at least one win in a UFC heavyweight title fight. There is no minimum number of defenses, and both undisputed and interim bouts qualify. Ordinary main events do not.

The win total and record use this division only, so a light-heavyweight championship bout doesn’t enter these numbers. Fights in PRIDE, Strikeforce, PFL or any other promotion don’t enter either.

Promotions, vacancies and stripped titles happen outside the cage, so they can’t create a title-fight win. AgentMMA uses the UFC’s official title history for that lineage context. This matters when Jon Jones’ 2025 retirement led to Tom Aspinall’s promotion, or when Aspinall later relinquished the belt.

Other lists count champions, reigns or successful defenses, while this one counts people who won qualifying fights. It then shows their complete record in those bouts. That difference explains why two correct pages can publish different totals.

The UFC Record Book says its statistical leaderboards start at UFC 28, while AgentMMA’s study reaches back to 1994-03-11. That cutoff is another reason the totals may differ.

Notable names on the list

Randy Couture

Couture is the headline leader with 6 heavyweight title-fight wins. His 6-3-0 record spans more than a decade, from his first win in 1997 to his last title bout in 2008. Few rows show the division’s turnover as clearly.

Stipe Miocic

Miocic also has 6 wins in the displayed table, with a 6-3-0 record. His final title fight came against Jon Jones on 2024-11-16, and the UFC confirmed his retirement afterward.

Jon Jones

Jones went 2-0-0 in heavyweight title fights, submitting Ciryl Gane for the vacant belt before stopping Miocic. The UFC announced Jones’ retirement in June 2025, which moved Aspinall from interim to undisputed champion.

Ciryl Gane

Gane’s row reads 2-2-0 with 1 NC after interim title-fight wins in 2021 and 2026. AgentMMA’s rankings now list him as champion, and the UFC also identifies him as the undisputed holder.

Tom Aspinall

Aspinall won two interim title fights by first-round KO/TKO, then his 2025 bout with Gane ended as a no-contest. The UFC reported that he relinquished the undisputed title in September 2026 while recovering from his eye injury.

How solid is this data?

AgentMMA queried 54 UFC heavyweight title fights across the stored range from 1994-03-11 to 2026-10-17. The result produced 22 different winners across undisputed and interim contests.

Only UFC bouts count, although a fighter’s professional record may include other promotions. Those fights never change a UFC figure here. Results follow UFC Stats as stored in AgentMMA’s database, with an overturned result counted as a no-contest.

Administrative title changes need UFC history pages because they don’t appear in round-by-round bout data. The current champion can change at the next event, so the UFC Heavyweight rankings hold the live answer. This page refreshes when a new result changes the table.
